Most of that work is bookkeeping rather than mathematics. A blackjack figure is only true in relation to a named set of rules, so every number here is tied to the exact conditions it belongs to: how many decks are in the shoe, whether the dealer hits or stands on soft 17, whether blackjack pays 3:2 or 6:5. A bare percentage with no rules attached is not a fact, and she treats it as an error.

How she decides what goes on a page

She is the reason the baccarat drawing tables on this site are reproduced in full instead of being summarised. The third-card rule is the one part of baccarat that everybody gets wrong, it is deterministic, and a summary of a deterministic rule is worse than no rule at all — it leaves the reader confident and mistaken.

The other half of the job is saying when something does not work. Card counting gets a full page here because it is real, it is legal, and it is genuinely interesting. The Martingale gets a page because it is none of those things, and somebody has to explain in plain language why doubling after a loss does not touch the house edge.

Where a figure changes with the rules, she would rather print the range and name the conditions than pick the flattering end of it. That is why blackjack's house edge appears on this site as several numbers rather than one.

What she does not claim
